Tips to reduce Bloating after the Holidays

It's hard to feel yourself after excessive eating and drinking. Here are some tips to make your body feel better, and reset itself quicker:

• If you know you will be eating a big, heavy meal take 2 digestive enzymes with it. This will help speed up the digestive process.
• If you are eating something you are not supposed to, or just a large amount of rich foods, take 1 pill of activated charcoal to prevent gas. 
• Drink 1 glass of kombucha between meals or in the morning to prevent hangovers, this will give you energy, probiotics, enzymes and vitamins.
• Drink lots of water, emphasis on 1-2 glasses in the morning when you wake up. This will give your metabolism a kick start for the day. Add lemon to help detox the liver.
• Eat lots of raw, uncooked vegetables (peppers, cucumbers, carrots)
• CHEW YOUR FOOD WELL! - especially carbohydrates, this stimulates salvilary amylase to breakdown carbs in your mouth, therefore reducing pressure on your small intestine. 
• Eat in a calm environment, not on the run. Put away social media and enjoy your food. 
• Do not exceed 3 sips of liquid with each meal, this can dilute the digestive juices and weaken digestive fire.
• Drink lukewarm beverages- not iced, this can shock your digestive process.

  • Fennel tea
• Exercise! Do light cardio (you know yourself best which works for you)
• EX:
  • Gym
  • Run
  • Cycling or spinning

Make sure you stretch and ease your way back into it. Do not overdue it the first day back at the gym.
