Smoothies are a nice alternative to juice. Especially for fruit and vegetables with lots of pulp, such as bananas and spinach.
Pulse the blender until the ingredients are in liquid form. Can add ice to the blender, or serve over ice.
If bananas are starting to brown, I slice them up, and freeze them in plastic bags. This way, I can use it in a smoothie, or make banana bread. I always buy frozen fruit to have in the freezer. Strawberries, raspberries and mixed summer fruits are cost-effective.
